Update:
UPDATE: I ended up continuting to call as well as filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office, a few days later i call and finally get through to Dennis the owner, who greets me very rudely, telling me he is so sick of hearing from me and that i would be glad if i got 10 cents back after the review my girlfriend left the night before. A few days after this very unproductive conversation and a few more reviews my girlfriends account was finally refunded. It took a month and alot of work and frustration. I have to believe we are not the only ones out there who have been treated so poorly by Dennis.
The owner, Dennis, is extremely rude.
The water is amazing. They also recently started using 1 micron filters to get the iron out of the water. The water in the pool used to be kind of greenish, now it is crystal clear and just as wonderful.
Even after these issues. We still enjoyed our stay, UNTIL we left & I noticed an extra 100$ charge onto my bill. I called the owner to ask what the charge was for & he immediately accused me of "stealing" their remote control for the T.V. I apologized and even offered to by him a new remote control.
The bed was extremely deceiving and needed to be replaced 5 years ago.
Let's start with the constant swarm of bugs. Just a fair warning, you will be taking some of these bugs with you when you head home.
What a joke.
I've never heard of a remote control costing 100 dollars.
My first initial reaction of Sleeping Buffalo Resort was great! The front desk lady was very friendly and my boyfriend and I seemed to have the whole resort to ourselves. The water was incredible and the hot spring spoke for itself. We stayed in the "Bungalow" Cabin which sounds more comfortable than it actually was.
What a hidden gem! Stopped in for the night with the kids and rented a two bedroom cabin. It was very clean and we all had fun in the springs. The pool was warm for the kids and the hot tub and sauna were enjoyed by us adults! Will be stopping again next year on our way to Whitefish. Perfect halfway point!
On october 11th My girlfriend and I stayed at this resort. The day after checkout we noticed a 100 dollar charge additional to the room. We called to inquired and were immediately accused of stealing the TV remote control for the room, as well as blamed for additional hotel cancellations "because no one wants to stay in a room without a remote". We were sympathetic and felt like there may have been a chance that we accidentally took the remote, so we looked and searched when we got home to ND, but found no TV remote. We did not take any remote and have been charged for a remote that we didnt take at the expense of 100 dollars (a replacement TV remote probably costs 10 dollars). But I will reiterate, we did NOT take their remote. I tried contacting the business several times and was told finally that they are not worried about the remote and we would be refunded (I am assuming they found the remote). 2 weeks later there is no refund, I call every few daysand leave messages but no one will return my calls.
The fireplace did not work.
One month later, I have still not been refunded for this incident and I never stole a television remote.
Now when I call to get answers, I get told that the "department" that handles issues is not available.
We LOVE this place. There is no sign and it may look strange upon arrival, but walk in and you'll be greeted with friendly staff and amazing pools. We camped in the lot. There were very few people there and it was beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer.
